2010 Ray Potts Summer Bowling Results

By Louis Cowling (Big Tiger) on 08/17/2010

This summer we had over 230 guides, princesses and trailblazers join their dad’s for some scotch doubles bowling. Over the course of the summer you could see hugs and high fives galore exchanged all down the alley for a good shot.

My princess “Little Tiger” bowled her first strike on the third week of the summer. This was a joyous occasion and her reward was a basket of fries that seemed to be a favorite of many bowlers. Along with the good times we had some great scores posted over the course of the summer...(read more)

Joint Tribe Outing to Ichetucknee Springs

By Brian Quirk (Flaming Arrow) on 08/16/2010

This past Saturday, over 50 members of the Timucuan Federation crawled out of their tipi’s at sunrise to begin the journey to Ichetucknee Springs in Lake City. After sharing Buffalo meat at Cracker Barrel, the caravan, lead through the forests by Flash of Lightning and Flaming Eagle, safely made the journey to the springs.

Each member gathered their inner tubes and headed out for the adventure. One by one, the guides, princesses, big braves (and moms) jumped into the river and were greated with the first tingling of the cool waters. Almost two hours of peace and tranqulity followed as everyone saw the untouched, natural beauty of...(read more)

The 2010 - 2011 Adventure Guides & Adventure Princesses programs are getting underway. These programs offer wonderful experiences for fathers and children to share together. Children from age 5 through 10 may participate in Guides or Princesses, with older children participating in our Trail Blazers program.

Groups meet monthly to complete crafts projects, play games, share stories, and share in activities which reinforce core family values and stress father & son/daughter involvement. Outdoor adventures include gathering at Camp Immokalee for BB gun target shooting, archery, canoeing, zip lining, rock wall climbing, camp fires, face painting and camping. Zoo sleepovers, Suns baseball games, tubing trips and other outings are all part of the fun. There are numerous indoor activities as well, including the Jax Cracker races (kit car competitions), father/daughter dances, and holiday ice skating.

Our program also focuses on instilling a sense of community responsibility in our children.  Each year we participate in the Alex’s Lemonade Stand and Mandarin Food Bank fundraisers as well as numerous other community service projects.  Our motto is “Having fun, while helping others!”, and we take pride in our involvement in the community.

For information about the program, please email questions to info@timucuan.org. If you would like to register for the program, you can download the form at the following
