AnnouncementsAlex’s Lemonade StandBy Jay Smith (Silver Bear) on 05/07/2012On Saturday, May 12, 2012, from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm, the greater Jacksonville Publix Supermarkets will be hosting The Native Sons and Daughters Annual Alex's Lemonade Stand. Our young sons and daughters, with dads in tow, will be at Publix Stores throughout the Jacksonville area selling lemonade for a donation. Please join us for a refreshing bottle of lemonade and help find a cure for children's cancer. The Native Sons and Daughters Annual Alex's Lemonade Stand event is one of the best examples of what our program is all about. Our primary annual fundraising event incorporates having fun with dad while empowering our children. Through community service, we are teaching our children, by example, that by giving back to the community and being good citizens, even at their young ages, they CAN make a difference. AND THEY HAVE! In the last 6 years they have helped raise almost $50,000 in the effort to eliminate pediatric cancer!! Our program is among the top ten fundraisers every year for this tremendous cause! The Lemonade for Life fundraiser first began when a local Jacksonville family, whose daughter battled cancer, decided to raise funds and awareness for the disease. Lina Rak was diagnosed with Stage IV neuroblastoma, an often deadly pediatric cancer, over ten years ago. Though the Rak family has since moved out of the area, the Native Sons & Daughters continue their mission. Lemonade for the stands has been graciously donated by Pepsi. You can email this page to your friends to tell them about our fundraiser and donate directly simply by clicking on this link, then click Does your tribe measure up?By Rich Malzahn (Bull Gator) on 05/02/2012It’s been said that an OWB tribe gets more done by 7:00am than most tribes do all day. If you are one of the elite tribes earning this honor, then you are invited to attend the OWB party at Hanna Park on June 10th, CLICK HERE for details. If your tribe is not there yet, you have until May 19th (the day after the Suns Game) to get your coup points in to qualify. Remember that you need 550 points (450 for 1st year tribes) and 2 service projects. So motivate your tribe to finish the year strong so you can join us for a fun day at the beach, swimming, building sand castles and of course eating (food provided by the Federation). To extend the fun, some will be camping Saturday night, make reservations directly with Hanna Park. Congratulations to those tribes earning OWB!
